2020 Roundup: Booktube’s Top 10 Books of 2020

It’s finally time for my absolute favorite post to do every year! This is the post where I share with you the top 10 books of 2020 according to the booktubers I subscribe to. It’s always so much fun creating this list because I get to watch everyone’s favorites of the year videos and do some complicated excel stuff to get this list. As always, this list takes into account rankings (if they happened to rank them) so we’ll go from number 10 to number 1! I’ll link all 30 booktubers and their favorites videos that this list is based upon at the end of the post. For now, here is the list!

2020 Roundup: Best Movies and TV Shows of 2020

It’s the last day of my 2020 roundup! At least for awhile. Stay tuned when I go through Booktube’s Top 10 Books of 2020 in about a month! Today I’ll be sharing with you the best movies and TV shows I saw in 2020. These didn’t necessarily come out in 2020 but I did watch them for the first time in 2020. I watched a crapload of stuff this year, probably because of the lockdown and also because I really got interested in watching critically acclaimed movies because I wanted to know what “critically acclaimed” actually means. I think I’ve got a good variety on this list so let’s get to it! Here are the top 10 things I watched in 2020, from number 10 to number 1!

2020 Roundup: Movie and TV Show Survey

We’ve now come to the part of my 2020 roundup where I talk about the movies and TV shows I’ve watched in 2020! I know this is primarily a book blog but I also watch a lot of movies and TV shows and I’d love to talk more about them on my blog too! Today I’ll be adapting the reading survey that I did a few days ago and modifying the questions to suit movies and TV shows. I hope this will work and that this will be interesting to you! On to the statistics!

2020 Roundup: Best Books of 2020

It’s time to do the best post of the year! Today I’ll be sharing with you the top 10 books I read in 2020! This year I didn’t have a lot of 5-star reads so I thought I was going to struggle to come up with this list but upon further examination, it looks like there were actually quite a few books I enjoyed this year! I’ve also found some all-time favorites so let’s talk about them! Here are my favorite books I read this year, from number 10 to number 1.

2020 Roundup: Worst Reads of 2020

For today’s 2020 roundup, I’ll be talking about the worst books I read in 2020. There are only 5 books on this list which is actually pretty good. I did have the most number of DNFs this year than I have before in previous years but aside from those few, I liked most of the books I read this year which is great. Anyway, here are the 5 worst books I read in 2020, from the least worst to the worst worst.

2020 Roundup: Most Surprising and Disappointing Reads of the Year

Welcome to day 4 of my 2020 roundup! Now starts the series of posts where I’ll be delving deeper into some of the books I’ve read this year. Today I’ll be sharing with you some of my most surprising and disappointing reads of the year. This post is a bit hard to do because I try not to also include books which are on my worst and best list. So these are more like the surprising and disappointing reads which are NOT on my worst or best list. I’ve got 6 books to talk about, 3 for each category, so let’s get to it!

2020 Roundup: 2020 Reading Survey

Happy new year and welcome to day 3 of my 2020 roundup! For today, I’ll be doing the reading survey, which is sort of the perfect thing to do to quickly go through all the books I’ve read in 2020 and all the fun statistics and stuff like that. I did this last year too and it’s a fantastic summary. Let’s get right to it!

2020 Roundup: Goodreads Challenge 2021

Welcome to day 2 of my 2020 roundup! Today I’ll be sharing with you the single major reading goal I’ve got for 2021. I’m not really going to be doing any posts about my 2021 reading goals or 2021 TBR or anything like that because the whole year is probably going to be spent on this challenge. It is of course the challenge of reading the Goodreads winners of 2020. This has been a trend in the book community for some now and we all know that the Goodreads Awards is nothing but a popularity contest. But I do think it will be interesting to see if books which are popular really deserve all that hype.

THE RULES

My plan is to read the top 5 books in 10 categories that I’m most interested in and at the end, I’ll rank those 5 books and see if they fit the ranking of the awards results. I know that some of these books are sequels in a series though so I’ve allowed myself to skip a book if I have to read more than 2 other books in order to catch up. So if it’s a 4th book in a series I haven’t started yet, I’m going to skip it but if I’ve already read 1 or 2 books in the series, I’ll continue on. In cases where I have skipped a book in the top 5, I’ll just read the next book on the list. That means I will definitely read 5 books from each of the 10 categories I choose. With that out of the way, let’s go through the Goodreads winners and top nominees and let me share with you the books I plan to read for the majority of 2021! It’s 50 books so it’s quite a lot!

2020 Roundup: Reviewing My 2020 Fortune and Reading My 2021 Fortune From Books

Welcome to my 2020 Roundup! Just like I’ve been doing for about 3 years or so, for the next week, I’ll be posting everyday to round up all of the things I read (and watched!) in 2020 and some of my 2021 plans. For the very first post of my 2020 Roundup, we’re doing something a little weird. So a year ago, I was inspired by Katesbookdate to read my 2020 fortune using random sentences from books. I thought it was such a brilliant idea that I’m going to do it again for 2021! But first, I thought I’d have a look at what my 2020 fortune said and see just how accurate it was! 2020 has been wild so this is going to be interesting…
