The Raven Cycle by Maggie Stiefvater is a paranormal-type series following Blue, who comes from a family of psychics but has no magical abilities of her own, and four prep school boys as they follow ley lines and other magical things in search of a dead Welsh king. Strange synopsis right? Well, the series overall is pretty strange too. It’s super hyped on Booktube and everyone absolutely loves it but I don’t think it really suits me. The story is too weird and the paranormal elements too far out of my comfort zone that I couldn’t really get into it.

The Lunar Chronicles by Marissa Meyer is a sci-fi series retelling the stories of Cinderella, Little Red Riding Hood, Rapunzel, and Snow White. The combination of the sci-fi genre and fairytales is an interesting one and doesn’t seem like it should work, but man, it totally does. This series is just so fun and lighthearted and an absolute joy to read. It made me smile and I would totally recommend it if you ever need a pick-me-up. Full review with spoilers below the cut.

I thought it was quite fun and I’m happy to say that I managed to complete my TBR and all the reading challenges that I set out to do. I wanted to take part in the blog challenges too but unfortunately, I gave up after Day 2 cause I was too lazy. Oh well, I’m not gonna beat myself up about it. Today, I bring you my wrap-up of all the books I read during the Summer Bibib!

Aha so now we enter controversial territory. I’m doing this review as part of the blog challenge for the Summer Bibib, which is to write a book review. Technically, I’m doing an adaptation review but I’ve been meaning to do this review anyway so I thought I’d just force it into this challenge. I’ll also review a bit of the book so maybe it counts? Anyway.
